2. What is a lace wig?
If you've never heard of a lace wig, you're not alone. In the past they were used mainly by actors and people who suffered from hair loss due to medical problems. But recently, celebrities like Beyonce and Tyra Banks are making lace wigs more widely popular. A lace wig is unique -- built on a very sheer lace cap, and the key feature is that at the hairline, and when parted, a lace wig looks incredibly natural, as if the hair is growing right out of the scalp.

3. Swiss Lace or French Lace?
Swiss lace is finer, and more fragile, than French lace, and blends better with the skin for a less visible appearance. French lace is slightly thicker and more durable. We generally recommend that first time buyers go with French lace because they are inexperienced at wig application and removal and are more likely to damage a wig cap made of Swiss lace. With experience applying and removing wigs, you may feel more comfortable with Swiss lace.

4. How do I decide which cap is best for me?
Cap construction is a personal preference; in general all Ynobe Couture Stock units are made of French lace with stretch from ear to ear. More experienced lace wig wearer my choose a cap construction of Swiss lace at the front hairline with French lace at the nape. or a full French cap. Again, this is personal preference.

5. What are bleached Knots?
Bleached knots help make the hair appear as if it is growing from the scalp. When hair is tied to the lace, there is a dark knot where the hair is secured. Bleaching or "lightening" the knots reduces the visibility of this knot. On black, off black and dark brown hair, the knots are lightened to a light brown shade. Very light brown and blonde colors usually do not need bleached knots.

6. Which color lace is best for my complexion?
The color of lace depends on a lot of factors. First and foremost, the best applications are usually camouflaged by makeup at the hairline and where the hair is parted. This is truly how you get a natural appearance, even though lace blends with the skin, certain lighting conditions can show the lace. If you are unsure about a color of lace it is best to go lighter rather than darker. The lace can be dyed using an over the counter fabric dye to blend with your complexion.
